Welcome!
Intro
Our research focuses on understanding and engineering intelligent multiphase systems that drive the next generation of sustainable energy and thermal management technologies. By integrating advanced visualization, machine learning, and multiphysics modeling, we uncover the dynamics of boiling, condensation, and electrochemical gas evolution to enable smarter, more efficient energy systems.
Research Thrust Overview
Multiphase Heat and Mass Transfer
We explore how bubbles and droplets form, grow, and interact in boiling and condensation, processes that underpin some of the most powerful thermal transport mechanisms known. By probing the limits of heat transfer and uncovering the dynamics that govern efficiency and failure, we aim to lay the foundation for next-generation cooling, energy, and thermal management technologies.
Advanced Visualization and Diagnostics
We build experimental platforms that capture what the eye cannot see—leveraging high-speed cameras and neuromorphic imaging to reveal hidden dynamics in real time. By creating new ways of seeing interfacial transport phenomena, we open doors to questions that could not be asked before and push measurement science to new frontiers.
AI-Driven Thermal-Fluid Science
We combine physics and machine learning to transform raw data into predictive insight. By developing models that are both data-rich and physics-aware, we are charting a path toward real-time understanding and control of multiphase systems. This integration of AI with thermal-fluid science creates opportunities not just to explain what we see, but to actively design and optimize future energy systems.
